Dr Krishna Devkota is Manager of Sustainable Intensification Work package of F2R CWANA Initiative. Dr Devkota has a PhD in Agriculture/Agronomy from the Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany with extensive field research soil, water and agronomy in Uzbekistan. He has more than 10 years of experience from three CGIAR centers (CIMMYT, IRRI and Africa Rice Center). Before joining ICARDA, he was Senior Scientist (Cropping Systems Agronomist and Agricultural Water Management Specialist) at UM6P University of Morocco for more than two years. He was ‘Irrigation Agronomist’ in IRRI, Philippines and ‘Cropping Systems and Agricultural Water Management Specialist’ in Africa Rice Center, Cote d’Ivoire. Also, he was agronomist (cereal and food legume crops) in a national NGO (Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development, LI-BIRD) in Nepal for more than five years. He has experience in agricultural research from East-, South- and Central-Asia and West- and North-Africa in diverse crops and challenges with the aim to improve the sustainability and resilience (sustainable intensification) of crop production systems. Dr Devkota also has very good expertise in crop simulation modeling (APSIM, DSSAT, etc) and has authored and co-authored more than 80 scientific articles and book chapters in high impact factor journals.
