Training workshop on Irrigated Agriculture under Climate Change

ICARDA, in partnership with the Australian Center for Agriculture Research, will host a Training workshop on Irrigated Agriculture under Climate Change, from 23-27 February 2025, in Cairo, Egypt. The main goal of the training workshop is to discuss and develop a joint Research for Development Program 2025-2030 with an action plan between Australia and participating countries of Egypt, Sudan, and Algeria.
The workshop will bring together NARS partners, the Ministries, and Universities from Egypt, Algeria, and Sudan to discuss Agricultural Research and the development of joint research priorities. This will be in alignment with CGIAR 2025-2030 New Portfolio, the CGIAR 2030 Global Strategy for Resilient Drylands, their Country Agriculture Strategy Plan 2025-2030 and the Australia Agricultural Research for Development Priorities, with a special focus on the Capacity Sharing Exchange program between the CGIAR Capacity Sharing Accelerator and Australia.
The participants will be able to explore various climate resilience initiatives in Egypt during a planned field visit to the Sids research station in Beni Suef. This training workshop will be a great platform for participants to assess current challenges and share future plans by identifying research collaboration opportunities, enhancing their understanding of climate-smart and digital agriculture, expanding professional networks, and exploring joint training programs to advance sustainable agricultural practices and shared development goals.
