On June 3, 2024, the first International Lathyrus Day conference will take place in Ghent, Belgium. As ICARDA has a global CGIAR mandate for improving crops such as lathyrus (also known as grasspea), aiming to provide better on-farm efficiency for smallholder farmers who struggle in hot, water-scarce environments, the event is co-sponsored by ICARDA.

On May 19, 2024, ICARDA is hosting a stakeholder consultation workshop about Egyptian irrigated agriculture at the hotel Holiday Inn Maadi. The event is co-organized by CGIAR's Excellence in Agronomy Initiative.

ICARDA and the Institut National de Recherche Agronomique (INRA), our primary research partner in Morocco, are co-organizing their annual Field Day on May 16 2024 at the Marchouch research farm, located approximately one hour's drive from Morocco's capital Rabat.

ICARDA scientists are disseminating a new mungbean variety to farmers at a Seed Distribution event in Uzbekistan. The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, GIZ and EcoAral.

The International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), one of Africa's most important agri-innovation expositions, will take place from April 22-28, 2024, in Meknes, under the theme “Climate and Agriculture: For Sustainable and Resilient Production Systems.” ICARDA's scientists will demonstrate groundbreaking climate-smart agri-technology to a diverse national and international audience.

Crop Diversity Day Rabat 2024, hosted by ICARDA, the Crop Trust, the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, builds upon the momentum of the Global Crop Diversity Summit 2023 in Berlin.
