Impact

Goals
To develop, adopt and utilize winter wheat variety using national facilities of research institutes in Turkey and its distribution to all cooperators
Objectives
To develop winter/facultative wheat germplasm for the region of Central and West Asia and North Africa (CWANA); to facilitate the winter wheat germplasm exchange for the global breeding community; to organize training organisations especially for CWANA region in order to increase collaboration and cooperation among other countries for their capacity building and breeding programs.
Impact pathways
The impact pathway gives a synthesis of the logic underlying project goal, strategy and activities. A lot of project work is concentrated in research and developing improved wheat varieties that are disease resistant and with better agronomic and phenological characteristics applicable to various locations. The new successfully developed varieties will ultimately be transferred to and adopted by the farmers. The adoption of various wheat varieties will contribute to increased genetic diversity and gain. Resistant, diverse and more productive wheat varieties will contribute to increased food security and better livelihoods for farmers.
