This project is one of the facets through which ICARDA is delivering innovative science-based solutions to malnutrition and energy inefficiency. This project pilots and takes to scale the requisite innovations for the dry areas whilst building the capacity of young professionals to sustain the benefits that will accrue from the project and other related projects.

Goals
To provide micro-nutrient rich fast cooking legume varieties amenable to machine harvest in four South Asian countries where legumes are extensively grown and consumed.
Objectives
To support the development of science-based innovative technologies to increase productivity, profitability, resilience and marketability of micro-nutrient rich food legumes through mainstreaming energy and labor-saving traits in South Asia.
